The Australian Shadows are the annual literary awards presented by the Australian Horror Writers Association and judged on the overall effect – the skill, delivery, and lasting resonance - of horror fiction written or edited by an Australian.

The awards for works published in the 2013 calendar year have been announced – you can see the full results over at Dark Wolf Reviews.

Of particular interest are the following two awards which have been won by New Zealand writers:

“Caterpillars” by Debbie Cowens (Baby Teeth – Bite Sized Tales of Terror, Paper Road Press)

“Baby Teeth – Bite Sized Tales of Terror” edited by Dan Rabarts and Lee Murray (Paper Road Press)
