Horse Trekking

Experience horse riding on the hills above Wainuiomata! Spectacular veiws of the South Island and of the Wellington harbour and city. See the Cook Strait in its natural moods; big rolling sea swells crashing onto rocks or dispersing on the beach, or on its calm days, seeing shoals of fish or the odd seal frolicking in the bay or Dolphins cruising in or out of the harbour. Learn a bit of history of the surrounding area, eg the light houses where the Wahine disaster occured, or enjoy the native bush ride.

Meet in the Quality Hotel lobby for a 1pm (Monday 30th) departure, and be sure to dress appropriately! The trip will take about six hours total, with two hours on horseback. No prior riding experience is required.

NB You must weigh less than 120kg, and you need to be a member of the con to book for the trip. Numbers are limited.
